A residence where creators, writers, researchers and thinkers from various disciplines can stay for short or longer periods, depending on their needs and availability, either alone or as small collectives, to find the time, space and a serene atmosphere for their creation and to propose initiatives engaging local and global communities.

We’re thrilled to welcome Stockholm-based filmmakers Ylva Rafstedt Lindgren and Linn Björklund for an upcoming #residency with us.
Through powerful #documentary #cinema, Ylva and Linn uncover hidden stories and challenge the structures that silence them. Their work is fueled by a fierce passion for human rights, equality, and giving voice to those too often unheard.
The two met while studying at the Red Cross film school, where their shared vision of storytelling as a tool for activism first took root. During their time in Arielli, they’ll be developing scripts for their feature-length debut — a bold project that stands as both evidence and resistance.
Help us give them a warm welcome to #Arielli — we can’t wait to see what they’ll create!

Portraits of resilience, creativity, and individuality. Each face tells a story, each expression holds a journey. A heartfelt thank you to each artist who brought their vision, voice, and presence to @dentrolaterra . Your work has shaped this space, leaving traces that will grow beyond time spent here.

Every doorway holds a story, every step a transition. This space is more than just a house—it’s an invitation. A passage between past and future, solitude and collaboration, the known and the yet-to-be-created. What will you bring through the gate? #betweenspaces #abruzzolovers #artistresidency #creativeescape

This is more than a view; it’s a vision. A reminder that growth takes time, that roots matter, and that the best things in life—like a great wine or a meaningful journey—are worth the wait.

As the lights shine on these ancient stones and the horizon whispers stories of tomorrow, we welcome 2025 with open hearts and endless creativity. Here’s to a year of art, connection, and magic under the Italian stars. 🌌
Join us in shaping the future, one masterpiece at a time. 🎨💫

Awakened by the first light, the sky transforms into a canvas of color—where deep blues and fiery reds merge, breathing life into the forest and vineyard. Each sunrise here in #Abruzzo reminds us that nature’s artistry is as vivid and untamed as the imagination. 🌄✨

We are extremely pleased to continue our collaboration with @artinvitafestival and to host @django_burdeau as part of #nouveaugrandtour promoted by @if_italia.
This network of Italian residencies hosts over 50 French and German artists. We are thrilled to welcome an artist with multicultural roots (their grandparents come from four different countries: New Zealand, United States, France, and the Netherlands). Django is currently in residence in Arielli and working with our local community and other realities such as @f.urba by @simon_tenembaum.
Django is a filmmaker and video artist who, during the 20-day residency, will use the camera as a writing tool, experimenting new ways of screenwriting. The goal is to create either a documentary or an audiovisual installation inspired by the local landscape and community. This will serve as the first step of research for the short film “If You Don’t Get Too Close” (currently in progress), but will also be a standalone piece to be shared during the eighth edition of Artinvita in 2025!

Such a pleasure to meet today with @yuryur_yul and receive an early copy of her latest work ‘La Danse Des Flamants Roses’ published at Memoire d’encrier.
Yara has been a resident at @dentrolaterra in 2021 and with her we developed our collaboration with @espacedeladiversite. During her residence she started working on this book and we cannot wait to discover the results of her utopian reflection about the future of our world, starting from Palestine.

We are happy to invite you to a lecture by our residents @chery.maryline and @chrisdiraddo on 29 September at 20:30. The two Canadian artists are currently in residence and will share about their experience and work in @dentrolaterra. We are lucky to have them with us thanks to @espacedeladiversite and are grateful to associazione culturando and comune di #crecchio for their hospitality.

Thanks to our partnership with @espacedeladiversite, we are happy to welcome @dentrolaterra Maryline Chery. @chery.maryline is a Haitian-origin actress, playwright, and improviser based in #Montreal. In 2021, she premiered her first solo performance, "AFRODISIAQUE," at the @segalcentre for Performing Arts, followed by a presentation at the @zoofest.offjfl festival, where she won the Show of the Year award in 2022. She also performed to sold-out audiences during the 2022-2023 season as part of the @conseilartsmtl tour. Maryline has appeared in notable series such as "Doute Raisonnable" (2023) and "District 31" (2020). In 2022, she was the proud recipient of the Gloria Mitchell Aleong Award from the Black Theatre Workshop.
During her residency @dentrolaterra she will work on a tragicomic play "Menaj" (working title) that explores the role of #feminism and "queer" identity within the #Haitian community. During the festivities of a Haitian #wedding in #Montreal, family secrets and truths will finally be brought to light.

As part of our collaboration with @espacedeladiversite we are happy to welcome @dentrolaterra Christopher DiRaddo. @chrisdiraddo is the author of the novels The Family Way (2021), shortlisted for the F.G Bressani Literary Prize, and The Geography of Pluto (2014). His essays and short stories have appeared in First Person Queer: Who We Are (So Far), Here & Now An Anthology of Queer Italian-Canadian Writing and The Globe and Mail. He has also written for several publications, including @ellecanada, @xtramagazine and @enroutemagazine, for which he won a National Magazine Award (Gold, Short Feature, 2019). In 2014, he created the Violet Hour Reading Series & Book Club, which has to date provided a platform for more than 250 2S/LGBTQ+ writers in Canada. He lives in #Montreal.
During his residency @dentrolaterra Christopher will be working on a draft of his third novel, Hard Feelings. Primarily set in the suburbs of Saint-Hubert, Quebec in 1989, Hard Feelings tells the story of an Italian-Canadian family at a crucial moment in the province’s history. Told in the third person and in chapters with alternating points-of-view (father, mother, son, daughter), this work of literary fiction explores themes of intimidation, misogyny, homophobia and emotional inheritance.

🇬🇧 Anastasia's olive tree
A few days ago, we turned to Anastasia's olive tree. A tree that rose from the ashes. Sick and frail at first, enveloping it with these pots and pans created a shell, a reflective protection that regulated the temperature at its feet. He drew a new energy and found back life and bloom. Now, as a plant hero, with its iron armor, he reigns as a great sage and has become an artistic emblem in Anastasia's garden. Baptiste has been working next to the tree for the past three weeks, capturing its breath to create new sounds.
🇮🇹 L'ulivo di Anastasia
Qualche giorno fa, ci siamo rivolti all'ulivo di Anastasia.

The Great Oak of the Marrucina road
🇬🇧 The arrival of Baptiste at the residence has led us to reconsider and rediscover the trees of the territory. Witness and heir of the region's history, they have seen the centuries pass, the landscape metamorphose and the traditions remain. Yesterday we visited the great oak, near the Marucina road, which cradled the history and childhood of the inhabitants of the area. It was a strategic point during the Second World War and the refuge of an intangible heritage of the region, filled with stories and legends of witches.
This Sunday, Baptiste made it sing, and we tried to perceive the seconds and centuries it has observed

Meeting with the Mayor of Arielli
🇬🇧 Tuesday morning, our happy team met the mayor of Arielli.
Marco, from the Artinvita festival, took the opportunity to introduce Baptiste, our artist in residence, and Alix, who has been an intern at Dentro la Terra for the past two months and arrived at the residence a short time ago.
We discussed different topics, around the residency and the festival, and we started to concoct an event in the village to celebrate the end of Baptiste's residency!

🇬🇧 First week of residency for Baptiste Anne, it ends with shoes full of mud and a mind filled with inspiration for his new project!
The week was punctuated by walks in the area to find the raw material for Baptiste's work, the trees, by the meeting of locals, generous in anecdotes and extremely invested, and by the visit of the vineyard in which Baptiste will exhibit, as part of the Artinvita festival.
A fruitful and inspiring week!
